Belal’s surrealist work draws on his passion for portraits and literature to challenge concepts of masculinity, moral issues, theology, and societal constructs to tell stories through visual art. Belal’s conceptual work combines artistic techniques and his reflections on the literature he studies and incorporate into his worldview. While each image has a unique message, they are linked by the use of earth tone palettes, simplistic wardrobe, and their painterly aesthetic.
